The Fairways House  (2024)

CORD was commissioned to design a single-storey, fully accessible detached house, conceived as two distinct blocks: the east wing houses the bedrooms and en-suite bathrooms, while the west wing accommodates the living and dining spaces. A generous open-plan circulation links the front and rear of the property, creating a flowing, connected journey through the home.

At the heart of the design is the protected Hornbeam tree, around which the house is carefully oriented. Its presence, along with the row of protected Cypress trees at the rear, guided the siting, access, and spatial organisation, ensuring the home responds gracefully to its natural context. The result is a residence that feels integrated with its landscape, where every movement through the space is framed by the living beauty of its surroundings.
